Gary Wayne Coleman (February 8, 1968 – May 28, 2010) was an American actor, known for his childhood role as Arnold Jackson in the American sitcom Diff’rent Strokes (1978–1986) and for his small stature as an adult. After a successful childhood acting career, Coleman struggled financially later in life. In 1989, he successfully sued his parents and business advisor over misappropriation of his assets, only to declare bankruptcy a decade later. In 2005, Coleman moved from Los Angeles to Santaquin, a small town south of Salt Lake City, Utah, where he lived for the remainder of his life. In early 2007 he met Shannon Price, 22, on the set of the film Church Ball, where she was working as an extra, and married her several months later. They divorced in August 2008, citing irreconcilable differences, continued to live together until his death.
Seeing this baptism record, one can only assume that someone in Ecuador is a big fan of Church Ball. Although it’s also possible that his parents or ex-wife wanted him baptized. Still, given that neither party have seen fit to bury him, more than a year after he died, it seems unlikely they had anything to do with his posthumous baptism into the church.

Good catch, Anon.
There are, presently, three different records for Gary Coleman in Family Search. One record shows the ordinances as ‘Ready’. A second shows ‘Not Available’, as Helen Radkey notes. The third record, which shows his name in ALL CAPS, shows the records noted above.

The church must always have the permission of his living family members to do a baptism in his behalf. If he was unmarried the permission of his parents would have been required.

Hey, @4 Andrea,
Are you willing to call up Gary’s living family members, or his ex-wife to see if they got permission? I’m willing to bet that Marcela Muñoz, in Guayaquil, Equador did not.
Honestly, Andrea. There are a few hundred records on this site, and they all contain verifiable ordinance work. Do you think they got permission from the next of kin of all these people? Why don’t you go check out the comments in George Carlin’s record from his living brother.
