Donna Reed (born Donna Belle Mullenger; January 27, 1921 – January 14, 1986) was an American film and television actress.
She received the 1953 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Lorene, a prostitute, in From Here to Eternity, and received the 1963 Golden Globe for her performance as Donna Stone, an American middle class wife and mother, in The Donna Reed Show.
Hey, it doesn’t get any more mormon than Donna Stone, right? Doting stay at home mom with three beautiful kids. Or for that matter, Mary Bailey, loyal wife of a persecuted small town banker. Or Lorene Burke, a prostitute in From Here to Eternity. Wait. I guess that one doesn’t really fit.
