Bram Stoker

Abraham “Bram” Stoker (8 November 1847 – 20 April 1912) was an Irish novelist and short story writer, best known today for his 1897 Gothic novel Dracula. During his lifetime, he was better known as the personal assistant of actor Henry Irving and business manager of the Lyceum Theatre in London, which Irving owned.

In a shameless attempt to cash in on the current Twilight craze, I spent half the morning searching the internet for vampire related ties to temple ordinances. Unfortunately, the tough thing about vampires is that since they never die, you can’t really baptized them by proxy. And even though we previously featured Vlad, the Impaler, as a substitute for Dracula, it turns out that Abraham Van Helsing was completely fictitious, so there are no baptisms for him either. (That we know of.) So we’ll have to settle for recognizing the author of the canonical vampire novel, Bram Stoker.
